Deciding how much water to use needs lots of practice.
It also depends on what kind of finish you want in your picture.
If you want delicacy and transparency, use more water and transparent pigments.
If you want a velvety, rich surface to the painting, use less water
and a paint that has less transparency but lots of pigment in it.

A note about Windows Web browsers. Many artists use the default Internet Explorer that came with the system.
This is NOT a good idea unless it is version 9 or above. It is unsafe especially if it is not the very latest. (version 10)
It is appreciably slower than the modern equivalents, and it does not handle the very latest technology (as used on this site) very well.
